Location
The town of Kolašin is situated in northern Montenegro, on a plateau 954 m above sea level. Nestled between two magnificent mountain massifs - Bjelasica and Sinjajevina, it is considered Montenegro’s most vibrant mountain town, as well as a popular summer and winter tourist destination. Kolašin lies at the intersection of two opposing weather fronts: the warm and mild Mediterranean climate of the Adriatic coast, and the colder, harsher mountain climate of the hinterland. This unique blend of currents makes it an air spa and ensures abundant snowfall every winter season.

Kolašin’s key natural attractions include the UNESCO-protected Tara River, also known as the ‘Tear of Europe’ thanks to its pristine waters, which flow directly next to the resort. The Tara is also internationally known for its spectacular canyon, one of the deepest in the world, and the high- adrenaline rafting facilities. Also nearby is the Biogradska Gora national park, a premium tourist attraction featuring a distinctive ecosystem with picturesque meadows and one of Europe’s last remaining rainforests. Alongside Žabljak, Kolašin is one the country’s two winter sports destinations and is currently undergoing extensive infrastructural development. The town’s existing ski centre is the country’s first to offer modern winter sports amenities, which makes it the backbone of the Montenegrin Government’s vision - valorization of the northern region’s natural resources and tourism infrastructure development. Currently, the Kolašin ski resort has 46km of active Alpine and Nordic ski trails, with further 15km expected to be developed by the end of 2021, and expansion plans of up to 125 km and beyond in the near future.

Architecture & Landscape
The dazzling new resort reflects a contemporary design that takes inspiration from the traditional mountain style, integrating authentic local materials and textures such as wood and stone with modern glass and metal surfaces, while seamlessly blending muted earth colours with the palette of the natural surroundings. The goal of the architects was to maximise direct vistas towards the Bjelasica massif and the Tara River, while maintaining the feeling of seclusion, and protecting the riches of untouched nature.
Amenities
The large Splendid-operated hotel conference hall is backed by two smaller meeting rooms with a capacity of 50 seats. Adding to the town’s cultural amenities, the hotel has a fully equipped 3D cinema hosting up to 72 visitors. The hotel pub with 120 seats is also open to the public. As a unique design element, above a large section of the ground floor, the hotel “square” is conceived to host a variety of cultural, recreational and private functions, as a meeting point with a landscaped garden for hotel guests, and an elevated platform with stunning views of the Tara River and the lush nature of the Bjelasica massif.
